Polley Family Wellness Center was founded by Dr. Chad Polley in 2010. It was created with the vision of providing the type of proactive care that our broken health care system is not capable of providing- a place where the patient is empowered to not only be free of pain, but take control of lifestyle factors that are contributors to poor health.

People who say that something is impossible should not get in the way of people who are doing it.

Is it possible to “fix” our current healthcare system? I honestly believe so, after all, the laws of good health have been known for hundreds of years. Our broken healthcare system is due to the “business” of healthcare i.e. reactive care, while ignoring much of the science & art of healthcare i.e. proactive care.

In order to fix this system, we must take decisive steps, each and everyone of us. First, we must take responsibility for our own health. Instead of asking, “Does my health insurance cover this?” A better question to ask is, “What things must I do to improve my health and quality of life?” Secondly, and just as important, we must get moving. Motion is the key to improve our health and reduce costs.

The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.

Vince Lombardi

When we begin regular, controlled motion, we maintain a better weight, we manage our blood pressure, cholesterol, anxiety, and more, all without the use of drugs. Just as Issac Newton discovered that an object in motion tends to stay in motion, momentum breeds momentum and we can develop a higher level of motivation to improve our diets, sleep habits and overall attitudes.

This will make a huge impact on reducing healthcare costs, not just a little bit, but dramatically. All of this with the added benefit of improving our quality of life, not just a little bit, but dramatically. So, our mission is to start with our youth and get our kids moving. Parents and adults must show by example that movement is a key element in fixing this overwhelming problem.

Do today what others won’t, so you can do tomorrow what others can’t.

The importance of taking action at this point in time cannot be understated. Changes for tomorrow begin with actions today. Only through taking full responsibility to solve this crisis can any of us hope for a better life for future generations.

Our experience has shown us that pain is just merely a symptom of an underlying cause. Unless the patient and physician work in tandem to identify the underlying cause, these symptoms will manifest for a lifetime.
